Warnemunde is known as a majestic port for cruise ships, delicious Baltic Sea seafood, and a beautiful beach, all of which make for an unforgettable trip. With its tower stretching 37 meters into the air, the Warnemunde Lighthouse offers summertime visitors a stunning view over the Baltic Sea and the northern neighborhoods of Rostock City. The Teepott Leuchtturm is another landmark in Warnemunde. It’s common knowledge that Rostock, Germany’s largest city, is home to one of the world’s oldest universities, the University of Rostock. Rostock sits on the mouth of the River Warnow, where it flows into the Bay of Mecklenburg and the Baltic Sea. On the weekend between the second and third weeks of August, Rostock and Warnemünde host one of the world’s most important yachting championships.
