On the island of Vestvagoya, Leknes is located in the geographic center of the Lofoten archipelago. Leknes is also the administrative center of the Vestvagoy municipality. It is located roughly 68 kilometers west of Svolvaer and 65 kilometers east of A in Moskenes. Leknes Havn, the town’s harbor, is one of Norway’s most important and visited cruise ship ports. The Fygle neighborhood’s old school has been transformed into a museum. Hol Church is located on the town’s eastern outskirts. Leknes is a “twin town” with Gravdal, a neighboring village where one branch of the Nordland Hospital is located. Gravdal lies approximately 4 kilometers southwest of Leknes.
