Norway’s Kvinnherad Municipality, in the county of Hordaland, is home to a fjord known as Maurangerfjord or Maurangsfjorden. The fjord, which is only 12 kilometers long, is a short tributary of the larger Hardangerfjorden. The Maurangsfjorden splits into the Nordrepollen and Austrepollen near its inner end. Aenes, Sundal, Austrepollen, Nordrepollen, and Gjetingsdalen are only a few of the settlements that dot the fjord’s shoreline. Austrepollen is the site of the Mauranger Hydroelectric Power Station.
