Eidfjord is a municipality in the county of Hordaland, located at the end of Norway’s second-longest fjord, the Hardangerfjord. Eidfjord is located in the heart of a region along the RV 7 route, which connects Oslo and Bergen and passes through Hardanger.

Sima hydroelectric power plant
The Sima hydroelectric power station is one of Europe’s largest hydroelectric power facilities. The main hall of the power plant is 700 meters into the mountain and measures 200 meters long, 20 meters broad, and 40 meters high. The plant provides guided tours that include a film on the power plant’s construction and a visit inside the power station hall.
Kjeasen mountain farm
The famous Kjeasen mountain farm is built in the shape of an eagle’s nest and is 530 meters above the Simadalsfjord.

The tour continues up Mabodalen from the Hardangervidda Nature Centre, where you can see Norway’s most famous waterfall, Voringsfossen. It features a 145-meter vertical plunge and a total drop of 182 meters.
