Skarsvag is the world’s northernmost fishing village, located in Nordkapp Municipality, Finnmark County, Norway. The settlement is located on the island of Magerøya’s northern coast. In the waters north of Magerøya, the local fishing fleet predominantly fishes for cod. Meet some of these local fisherman and learn about their daily lives in the Arctic, the treasures of the Barents Sea, and northern culture. Skarsvag has roughly 60 residents and is located about 14 kilometers from the famed North Cape. Skarsvag Church may be found in the settlement.
